The sky, coloured slowly, into fascinating reds, orange, and yellow sunlight. We passed the bridge, on our smooth way back, towards nightfall.
The bridge stood the same, as it always has, and the people were still there, selling their corn, selling their drink, selling their lives. Not for better ones.
In a little time I shall be standing there, alone, again. And I will look upon the world as a standing ground, an arena waiting for a battle to be fought. And the battle shall be fought throughout time. The battle shall prove to be merciful, as knowledge can be a weapon that will slash through the fiercest of al enemies.
Alone I shall stand, tall, throughout the years that are pending upon me. And my life shall look grim compared to those colourful ones, nonetheless bright compared to those that are dull.
And the soul will not be lonely, and the heart shan’t be either, nor shall the physical body. The mind, surrounded by metal walls, see-through, but impenetrable. A metal gate that defends all evil, vanity, greed and hatred. A metal wall that not only makes one strong, but invincible.
So I shall be standing there, alone, again.
I would like to know one thing… Where is our dehumanisation and systematisation leading us to?
This is the world as I see it:
People are tending to flock towards online lives, social networks and chat instead of the telephone, live conversations, excercise and real life.
People are becoming more violent, we are also starting to swear a lot more. A lot of people are losing respect for their elders, siblings and even friends.
People are tending to buy more things every time. Technology has led to more consumer-oriented marketing. A lot of people can’t live without the latest items. Status division is becoming a serious rising issue.
Education is going down. War, greed and control is increasing. A growing percentage feels their life is worthless, boring or monotonous.
Why is all of this happening? How can a few generations change so much the aspect of life itself. Is technology the sole factor in the systematisation of people?
It sickens me. Greed? Envy? Violence? Need for Control? Lack of respect? Murder? Lack of respect? Indiference?
Many of these are claimed to be “natural instincts”. Many think they are embedded in us, as animals we are. But then on the other hand, we claim to be civilised, we claim not to be animals.
So then what are we?! If not animals. We sure act as such.
Our past generations had a greater sense of decency. We are falling fast into constant degradation. I remember in primary school, there seemed to be a constant battle for who was the worst student. The best ones got rocks thrown at.
So as I see it, there are those who strive for knowledge, and there are those who prefer to live indiferent unknowledgeable systematic-consumer lives. By doing so not only are we finishing off with out earth and our resources, but with the little hope for knowledge and progress we have.
Maybe it’s not all our fault, but the education system, the goverment and the social laws and restrictions. But nonetheless, where is our curiosity? Why not leave the box? Why not chose to become aware over staying behind.
Social Interaction is just plain beautiful when it is easy to interact, socially.
A few weeks ago I started using ping.fm, a service to update most of your social network status’. I added it as a gadget to my igoogle homepage. It is straight easy to update my status on facebook, twitter, a few of my blogs, google talk, etc.
I had a problem nonetheless. Whenever I made a new blog post on lemiffe.com, the update only got sent to twitter. I am trying out an app I just found, “CR Post to Ping.fm“, hoping that if it works out as expected, it will be the final addition to my social interaction kit. It’s just great, you update all your status’ from one same place. You blog updates that place, therefore updating everything else.
I’m in love with gadgets, widgets and apps.
I’ve had terrible nosebleeds since a week and a half ago. Every time I sneezed heavily, or I blew my nose, it would start bleeding. This was probably due to a number of factors including dry weather, lack of good healthy meals, etc.
Yesterday I went swimming, thinking it would probably bleed in the water. The interesting thing is that it has been alright since then. I’m not sure if it is the chlorine in the water, or the constant contact, or the change in pressure but something surely triggered a change.
Update: I must mention, however, that I was swimming in shallow waters, so the water did not exert too much pressure on my nose.
Your nose might start to bleed underwater if the pool is very deep. If this is your case, it is probably related to the pressure change, as the deeper you go, the more pressure on your nose. If your blood vessels (veins/arteries) in your nose are weak then it might cause a nose bleed.
In my humble opinion you should get out, and consider revising your eating habits and any other factor that may be causing your blood vessels to be weak. It could, anyway, just be hot weather in some cases.
