Fanfarlo

Grab Sigur Rós, Amina, The Postal Service and The Faint, put them in a mixer. Will it blend?

The sound of Fanfarlo’s debut album, Reservoir, stands as a more active version than Sigur Rós, a more Rock version than Amina, a more Acoustic version than The Postal Service, with vocals similar to The Faint’s. The music on this album has the same intensity as Sigur Rós’ album “Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust”, nonetheless they mix in a lot more violins and trombones (or trumpets).

It brings forth a rather surreal experience. If you have not heard it yet, get the whole album for $1 at fanfarlo.com.

Voyages p.2

I have started a few days ago what shall become a series of voyages before my departure. I’ll be documenting some of my findings during these trips.

The LeMiffe Project gave a free gig on Saturday with a group called Nubia. It was considerably ok, nonetheless I was rather angry at the time of playing. It’s the first time I play on stage in a furious way, and might I say: It came out unexpectedly well.

Could adrenaline and fury be factors of playing better?
