A short report on Spam and PC Safety in 2009

“If the economy could rebound as spam has done in (the) second quarter, we would all be much happier with our retirement accounts. Spam has surged since the prior quarter, increasing nearly 80 percent. Last year’s spam fell drastically from previous quarters, in large part due to the shutdown of the McColo ISP,” the report said.

The report also warned of emerging threats of auto-run malware to increased botnets. Password-pilfering trojans are proliferating and expected to double this year from the prior year.

Researchers also warned of increasing malicious attacks on social-networking sites like Twitter, where URLs often are condensed. “The caution that users usually apply when they view search results and news links disappears behind the obfuscating address,” the report notes.

The Obscene Nature

We are working up a fever making new laws against touching, and we’re more scandalized by a photograph or painting showing a nippl_ * or a peni_ * than by the image of a starving child on a dry, dusty road.

Films and their effect on Society.

So, I’ve been thinking a lot about movies lately. Specifically about their impact on our lives. Obviously this is such an extensive topic, and I can not board it completely throughout this blog post, nonetheless, I will try to address some of the issues that I have been thinking about lately.

Sad Songs through Lo-Fi

There is something interesting about Sad Songs when they are recorded in Lo-Fi, or played back through a lo-fi stereo, or one with cracked speakers, or one which lacks Bass.

Those slow sad songs. There is something special about them when played this way, do you not agree?

Microsoft and Yahoo Tie-Up

According to the BBC Business News, “Yahoo and Microsoft have announced a long-rumoured internet search deal that will help the two companies take on chief rival Google.

Microsoft’s search engine will power the Yahoo website and Yahoo will in turn become the advertising sales team for Microsoft’s online offering.”

I wonder if this will be the key to a revival of Yahoo’s profits, and a deeper immersion from Microsoft into Web Technologies, as Microsoft has always struggled with the Web ever since it’s release of MSN (Microsoft Network).

Could this be it?
