Frog Pocket live
Mayhew at “Sweetheart”, originally uploaded by lemiffe.
On the 26th of August Mayhew played one of their last gigs at the Edinburgh Fringe. Agemaniac (a friend of mine) and I barely caught them at The Counting House, however, we got to see them again at “Sweetheart” on Victoria Street.
3 Guitars, 1 Cello and a Really Sweet Drum-Set make up this incredible band. It is a beautiful combination between folk, alternative rock and a few other styles. I can point out that I can distinctively hear a bit of influence from Sigur Rós, Radiohead and The Incredible String Band.
I recommend you pay them a visit at http://www.myspace.com/mayhewmusic if you have a bit of spare time.
Been away from the medium for some time now. Just letting you guys know I’m still alive and kicking
In a few weeks I will be releasing live material from a gig (or two) “The LeMiffe Project” will be playing around Monterrey.
Everything will be on my youtube channel at http://www.youtube.com/lemiffe
4 or 5 curtains of smoke shot up after the 6th song, glorious riffs, jaw dropping solos, smooth heavy distorted and delirious bridges between songs weaved with the unique voice of Matthew Bellamy. That’s my description of the experience that was lived yesterday in the Arena in Monterrey, NL, Mexico.
What a night indeed, and I must add that there was quite a crowd. In a place that seats up to 17,500 people, I can surely say that about 50-70% was occupied. That’s about than 10,000 people. Great show, great event, great music, nothing more to say.
Apparently the set list was the following:
1. Dead Star
2. New Born
3. Supermassive Black Hole
4. Map of the Problematique
5. Butterflies and Hurricanes
6. Sunburn
7. Feeling Good
8. Space Dementia
9. (Bass Jam)
10. Invincible
11. Starlight
12. Hysteria
13. Time Is Running Out
14. Stockholm Syndrome
Encore
15. Take a Bow
16. Plug in Baby
17. Knights of Cydonia
