I hereby present to you: Mayhew

Mayhew at “Sweetheart”, originally uploaded by lemiffe.

On the 26th of August Mayhew played one of their last gigs at the Edinburgh Fringe. Agemaniac (a friend of mine) and I barely caught them at The Counting House, however, we got to see them again at “Sweetheart” on Victoria Street.

3 Guitars, 1 Cello and a Really Sweet Drum-Set make up this incredible band. It is a beautiful combination between folk, alternative rock and a few other styles. I can point out that I can distinctively hear a bit of influence from Sigur Rós, Radiohead and The Incredible String Band.

I recommend you pay them a visit at http://www.myspace.com/mayhewmusic if you have a bit of spare time.

Fish & Chips

In B Flat

My sister stumbled upon a very interesting website today, and so I would like to share this with my readers (and listeners).

This is a website related to music. In it, you have many videos available which produce sounds, and together, or one by one, create stunning music, in B flat.

I have to say, my utmost respect for those who created this, it is a brilliant experiment, and just stunning that you can play around with music all in one same scale in this way.

Check out the website right here: http://www.inbflat.net/

New Song: Midnight Cafe Scene

So I’ve been working on ideas for a new lo-fi song. Yesterday I went to a cafe near midnight, and I liked the way things sounded. I decided to record a few minutes of it… just people talking. Today I felt inspired to write a melody for it. My sister suggested I should add a bit of piano to my lo-fi songs to spice them up a bit, but I didn’t feel it fit in with the mood of this one in particular, maybe the next one.

Anyway, Download MCS here or listen to it through the flash player below…

New Song: I Knew It

So, strange events take place in a life time. Life changing events. This is not one of them, but I wanted to make a song that expresses how I feel about quite a few things that happen in life, making reference to those life changing events.

It’s really a very bad quality song, as I don’t have half the audio equipment I used to have, nonetheless I hope you enjoy it. Download I knew it right here, or listen to it with the flash player below.
