Cheers to a successful week!

It was an interesting one. I have started working part-time from home, only going to the office on Fridays, and it has changed my perspective on many things. Now instead of taking the bus I take the train to a railway station nearby and I cycle the rest of the way to work (20 minutes to the office, 30 minutes back) which is quite a good exercise and I get to see very nice places.

Unfortunately I got lost last Friday and ended up in the village of Croy instead of Croy Railway Station (20 minute detour) but I found this magnificent bridge:

So I finally found the right way and it happens to pass next to a beautiful loch near Westfield, Cumbernauld. I just love the scenery:

Anyway, hopefully you’ve also had a great week and lets hope this one is even better!

Bi-Weekly Highlights (05/09/2010)

Two weeks full of madness, fun, work and partying! I have switched to part-time at work as I am starting a Masters degree at the University of Edinburgh. This picture is from a couple of weeks ago when they started road works outside my office and I had to walk a great deal to the nearest bus stop. It was worth it, beautiful plains to take pictures of. Blurriness is intentional.

So I moved to Edinburgh a week ago, and one of the first things I did was take a stroll through Princes Street all the way to St. Andrew’s square. This is a picture of the castle taken from Princes Street.

A few days ago we had the Edinburgh Fireworks as a close to the Festival… beautiful. A camera can never capture the full glory of fireworks, but I’m posting this picture anyway as a memory.

I climbed Holyrood yesterday with my best mate. 1 hour cycling to/from my house, and 2 hours to reach the top and get back down again… Good exercise!

Haven’t posted in a couple of weeks. Been extremely busy but finally I have a few minutes. We’ve had really really random weather, ranging from the nice and warm to the dreadful storms. Today I thought the world would fall on me.

So, at the start of a couple of weeks ago we enjoyed a few days of great weather:

Followed by mad rains, which quickly vanished as the next photo describes.

The road outside the office has been under repair for a week now. Today I had to run under the rain for 20 minutes, without much hope of finding a bus as they had been re-routed. Fortunately one stopped for me, in the middle of the street. I think he had a bit of compassion for a drenched soul wandering the highway. This picture was taken near the office last week.

I went travelling this weekend to Edinburgh for a fun time and a look around. Before I left I passed this chippie. I’ve never actually been there, but I’ve taken many photos of it, hoping some day I get the chance to visit it.

Clouds covered most of this week, breaking up and letting the sun shine through until the weekend. I had a great week though, low on stress, low on carbs, high on excercise, just what I needed! How was your week?

A boring week in images, but a great week for football. Spain won the final! Good for Spain! Congratulations!

This is a wee picture I took a few days ago after finding a set of red pens curiously positioned on the floor. Strangely enough right as I took the photograph a red car was passing by. A chance of prediction for Spain’s victory maybe?

I had a pretty bad start of the week. It was raining pretty bad, fell down on my skateboard, and had some personal problems. This picture is from Monday and pretty much expresses my mood.

Fortunately things started to look up by Tuesday, I was feeling much better, and the weather was also much nicer, and greener, might I say.

By the end of the week I was doing just fine, and watched a bit of the marching bands going past my street (as every other week), this put me in a cheerful mood.

Had a couple of heavy weeks so I didn’t have chance to upload the highlights last week, so here are a few pictures for the past two weeks, starting with the Mela festival in Glasgow on the 19th of June.

The following week I was buried in work, didn’t have time to go out taking photos, however, this last weekend was quite fun. I watched a friend play live at a garden party, afterwards I took a stroll through the city centre. The following picture is of a band that plays there on Saturdays, I really love it. Traditional Scottish bagpipe music with drums and madness:
